Everyone knows R.I.C.E. therapy… but most people are using it wrong.
In my practice, I see this mistake all the time—treating chronic pain with a first-aid method.
R.I.C.E. (Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation) is great for sudden injuries — not long-term issues.
Overusing it can slow your recovery.
For persistent joint or muscle pain, M.E.A.T. works better:
Movement
Exercise
Analgesics (only as advised)
Therapy (manual or physiotherapy)
The key is to activate healing—not suppress it.
Not all pain needs surgery. But it always deserves the right attention.
